    Getting Started

Getting started with Encryption Wizard (EW) is a straightforward process. If you have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) SE v1.5 or newer installed, the only file you need is the Encryption Wizard JAR file. On Windows and the Mac OS, EW can be executed by double-clicking the JAR file. On Linux, EW must be started from a terminal with the command "java -jar" followed by the name of the JAR file (e.g. java -jar wizard[version].jar). The current version of the JRE for Windows and Linux can be downloaded from this site.
